Privacy policy

Still Tide is a breathing and meditation app developed by Thomas Gorup. This page describes the current offline iPhone app and this separate website. Effective October 10, 2026. Public app distribution is still being prepared.

What the app saves

Still Tide saves your selected practice, breathing rhythm, session duration, chime and haptic choices, Silent Mode playback choice, chime volume, and haptic strength in local iPhone settings. These choices restore when you reopen the app. Still Tide does not share them with another app or a developer-operated service. The app has no account, ads, analytics, tracking, cloud sync, or third-party SDKs.

During a session

Timing, pause state, and a temporary session identifier exist in memory. Still Tide does not save session history. It uses a monotonic device clock only to calculate elapsed session time. Chime previews can display your current audio output name and volume locally; the app does not record audio or send that information anywhere.

Access and Focus guidance

The app does not access HealthKit, your microphone, contacts, photos, location, advertising identifiers, or Focus status. Its Focus guide provides instructions; it does not enable Focus or verify notification protection. Audio and haptic cues play on your device. There is no automatic diagnostic upload.

Retention and iPhone services

Saved choices remain until you change them or delete the app and its data. Offloading an app retains its data. Active session information is discarded when the session is dismissed or the app quits. There is no developer-held account or session database to delete. Depending on your iPhone settings, Apple backups may include local app data. Backups, restoration, and system diagnostics are managed by Apple under your device settings and Apple's policies; Still Tide adds no backup service.

This website and support email

The app currently includes its privacy and help text offline. Visiting this separate static website in a browser sends a normal web request. The site has no form, marketing cookies, or analytics script. The website host and DNS provider may process connection information, including IP addresses and request logs, to deliver it. If you email support or privacy, email routing and mailbox providers handle the address and message you choose to send so Thomas can reply. Do not include health details or other sensitive information unless needed for your question.
